Political Neutrality Policy
Latter-day Saints in Publishing, Media & the Arts (LDSPMA) maintains a politically neutral position in all official settings and events.
This approach reflects our commitment to:
- Align with the neutral stance of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- Comply with 501(c)(3) nonprofit guidelines regarding political activity
- Foster a professional, welcoming environment focused on learning, collaboration, and creative growth
- Support a diverse community of individuals with varying perspectives, without allowing political differences to disrupt connection or opportunity
While LDSPMA values free speech and civic engagement, political discussion is outside the scope of our mission and events.
What this means in practice
In all official LDSPMA settings—including conferences, workshops, podcasts, meetings, and other sponsored events—participants are asked to avoid political discussion, advocacy, or endorsement. This includes supporting or opposing political parties, candidates, legislation, or public policy positions.
Enforcement
Failure to follow this policy may result in action appropriate to the situation, including:
- A request to discontinue the behavior
- Removal from a session or event
- Removal from a role, participation opportunity, or membership
LDSPMA reserves the right to determine appropriate responses on a case-by-case basis to maintain a respectful and focused environment.
We appreciate your help in creating a space centered on professional growth, creativity, and meaningful connection.
