Conference Volunteers (Day-of Event)
Help make the 2026 LDSPMA Conference happen.
We’re looking for 20–25 volunteers to support the event and create a great experience for attendees, speakers, and fellow creatives.
Note: This page is for conference (day-of) volunteers. For year-round opportunities, including the Conference Committee, visit our main Volunteer Page.
Can’t volunteer in person?
We have a few virtual volunteer opportunities available this year, particularly for video recording editors.
Why Volunteer?
- Build relationships with other volunteers, speakers, leaders, and attendees
- Gain hands-on experience with event management
- Contribute to a meaningful, creative community
- Receive free registration for the conference
Volunteering is also a great way to explore future involvement as a year-round volunteer or board member.
Time Commitment
To receive free admission to the in-person conference, volunteers must complete 12 total hours of service before or during the event.
Volunteer Roles
We offer a variety of roles, and volunteers may sign up for multiple positions to fulfill their required hours.
Most roles are scheduled in shifts throughout the conference, allowing volunteers to select times that fit their availability.
Registration Desk Staff
(5-6 volunteers per shift; multiple shifts available)
Assist attendees at check-in by distributing badges, lanyards, and materials. Answer questions, provide directions, and support general attendee needs throughout the conference.
Room Facilitators
(7-10 volunteers per shift; multiple shifts available)
Support breakout sessions by introducing presenters, assisting with materials, and helping sessions stay on schedule.
Note: Facilitating a Thursday workshop includes free access to that workshop, but does not count toward the 12-hour requirement.
Camera Operators
(7–10 volunteers per shift; multiple shifts available)
Monitor recording equipment in breakout rooms. No prior experience required—training will be provided.
Video Recording Editors
(5–10 volunteers total; flexible scheduling)
Edit recorded sessions after the conference. Basic video editing experience and software are required. This role can be completed remotely.
In-Person Fast Pitch Ushers
(2–4 volunteers per shift; multiple shifts available)
Assist with organization and flow for Fast Pitch sessions by directing participants and helping sessions stay on time.
Launch Party Volunteers
(approx. 5 volunteers needed)
Assist with setup, attendee support, and general flow during the Thursday evening Launch Party.
Parking Attendants
(2 volunteers per shift; multiple shifts available)
Help guide attendees and manage parking flow during peak arrival times.
Scheduling
Volunteer scheduling will be finalized in August once session times are confirmed.
At that time, you’ll receive access to a sign-up sheet where you can select your preferred roles and time slots until you reach your required hours. Slots are first come, first served.
Training
Training sessions will be held over Zoom prior to the conference (times TBD).
These trainings count toward your total volunteer hours.
Example Schedule
You might:
- Attend a 1-hour training
- Facilitate several virtual sessions
- Work a few in-person shifts during the conference
Together, these can fulfill the 12-hour requirement.
