Course Description

This course introduces participants to components necessary to the art of writing Sweet Romance. Build your compelling story, your living characters, and your immersive setting. Craft your pacing, the conflict, and your character’s arc to reaching a satisfying Happily Ever After. A hero’s journey is one thing. A hero with love on the line is another thing entirely.

Expectations and goals 

Each class over this 6-week course will include instruction, discussion, practice, and assignments, including modules and assignments to complete between meetings. As a class we will learn essential critique rubric, so expect regular critique and helpful feedback in a group setting. Participants should leave class feeling excited to apply what we’ve learned each week to your writing project. Each student should leave this course with a feeling of comradery, a generous start on a Sweet Romance novel, and a good idea of where to take your readers next.
